TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN & KINDERGARTEN

Veritas offers two exciting Kindergarten options. Transitional Kindergarten is designed for children who are ready for a Kindergarten curriculum, but need a little more time to mature academically, socially or emotionally.  Perhaps your child misses the age requirement for public school yet demonstrates Kindergarten readiness. The Veritas Transitional K offers children with birthdays between September 1st and December 31st a place to be challenged with a full Kindergarten curriculum.  The Transitional K is also a great fit if your child is eligible for Kindergarten with a May through August birthday, but would benefit developmentally from having a little more time to mature.  Our curriculum offers a true Kindergarten, with more playtime, positive socialization, hands-on-learning, all while developing basic Kindergarten readiness. After a year of Transitional Kindergarten, our students either go on to a public school 1st grade, or into our Kindergarten program, which offers 1st Grade Reading, Writing and Math.

Who?

  • Children age 4.5 years to 5.5 years old by September 1st

Core Academic Curriculum:

8:30am-11:30 am

  • Reading: Kindergarten Wilson

  • Mathematics: Kindergarten Saxon Math

  • Integration of Montessori manipulatives

  • Development of Kindergarten readiness

Afternoon Enrichment

11:30 am -3:15 pm

  • Integrated Science/Social Studies hands-on program two afternoons a week including outdoor exploration in Fall & Spring

  • Logic and reasoning skills through games

  • Art twice a week through drawing, sculpture and craft-based artistic exploration

  • Choral instruction and basic rhythm using percussion instruments

  • Physical Education twice a week through games & movement emphasizing skills and group dynamics

Kindergarten

  • Children age 5 years old by September 1st and developmentally ready for Kindergarten
